Helicopter Rides
Have you ever wanted to experience flying in a helicopter? Well, you have the opportunity to do so right here in our community. As part of Lyerly Church's 2024 Missions Conference, we will be partnering with a ministry that we support called JAARS (Jungle Aviation and Relay Service). Located in Waxhaw, NC, JAARS provides transportation for Wycliffe Bible Translators who serve in remote areas of the world, which are often without access roads. In Waxhaw (outside of Charlotte), they maintain equipment and train pilots in using helicopters, small planes, four-wheelers, and boats.

What you need to know...
1) What? Short flight on JAARS helicopter around Rockwell area.
2) Where? Saleeby-Fisher YMCA, 790 Crescent Rd., Rockwell, NC 28138, come to the picnic
shelter behind the Y.
3) When? Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, 2:00-5:00 p.m. Event cancelled if inclement weather.
4) Who? Ages 2+; everyone must sign waiver; children under 18 must have parent/guardian
accompany them and sign the waiver; weight limit under 300 lbs.
5) How many passengers? The Robinson R66 can carry up to 4 passengers.
6) Cost? $25 per passenger, paid in cash or credit card. This minimal fee is to help defray the cost of
the helicopter, pilot, and support personnel.
